The Classic Illustration
The former backing group of the late Ann Christy, among others, is back. In 1977 the formation scored several international hits with “Darling I Love You” and “I Say Goodbye” as the most famous singles. Recently, the group re-released the ’90s single ‘Bat-A-Rat’, in a modified version. Now in – October 2022 – ‘You Knock Three Times’ is released, which was already launched in the early 1980s. Lux Records takes care of the worldwide release and promotion. This reissue also received a modified dress. Other fun songs from The Classic Illustration include ‘A Dream Of Memories’, ‘Young Girl’, ‘Black-Eyed Woman, I Need You Love’, ‘I Can Feel It’, ‘We Love The Sound Of Beethoven’, Come Back To Me,” “For You,” “”Believe in Angels,” and “Girl You’re The One I Need.”
Split
After a split for years, lead singer-guitarist Omer Vandormael (Sint-Truiden), singer-guitarist Adelin Goedons (Geetbets), bassist Francis Degros (Sint-Truiden) and keyboardist-singer-composer-producer Paul Pans (Geetbets) kept as original members. of The Classic Illustration a reunion. Keyboard player Marc Vanderstuks, who replaced Paul Pans in the 1990s, is now also back, alongside newcomer and drummer Kris Eeckhout. Over the years, The Classic Illustration released 16 singles, an LP and an online full CD, featuring songs composed exclusively by Paul Pans, with the exception of the Beatles hit “Oh Darling.”
Glory Years
In the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s, the six-piece dance and show orchestra The Classic Illustration was a household name in Flanders and the Netherlands. The formation accompanied numerous national and international artists including Ann Christy, Freddy Breck, Brotherhood Of Man, Dennie Christian, Lee Towers, Corry Konings, Ben Cramer, The Blue Diamonds, James Loyd, Helmut Lotti, Truus, Luc Steeno, John Terra. , Jacques Raymond, Micha Marah, Eddy Wally, Rita Deneve, Connie Neefs, Marc Dex, Peter West, Mieke, Joe Harris, Anneke Grönloh, Imca Marina and Samantha. In addition, the group also performed alone and lead singer Omer Vandormael (Steve Brandon) grabbed the audience from the first song.

Compilation-Album ‘The Good Old Days’
Single ‘A Dream Of Memories’ (Old Street Productions) promote new album

The Old Album
The Classic Illustration released the compilation album ‘The Good Old Days’ in Belgium and the Netherlands (on the label ‘Old Street Productions’) containing several international hits and new songs from the group. Well-known hits are ‘Darling I Love You’ and ‘I Say Goodbye’ from 1977, in addition to, among others, ‘Black-Eyed Woman’, which won in 1979 in Blankenberge after the Summer hit of Radio 2. From the new album ‘A Dream Of Memories’ was pulled as a promotional single. A song with a real ‘Du’ content, which was first released as a single on vinyl by Monopole Records in 1978 – 35 years ago. The online album has 12 songs.
Reunited
